Books I Read this Spring

I was excited to keep my momentum going with reading this spring! I read quite a few books and most were, again, newer. As far as the books I read this spring, The Golden Couple was my favorite. Hope you find some new books to add to your “Want to Read” list! For some more suggestions check out my post for the list of books I read this March! xo
Verity
Colleen Hoover seems to be having a moment – her books are everywhere. And it includes all of them! Verity was calling my name. I purchased the Kindle version of this book a while back and recently it felt like time to “pick it up.” Verity was in an accident and can’t write. Verity’s husband invites Lowen to stay at their house and research old notes to finish Verity’s book series. What she finds is a manuscript of an autobiography with some chilling stories. Rating: 5/5
A Flicker in the Dark
Stacy Willingham’s debut novel A Flicker in the Dark was so good! I convinced myself that I had this story figured out. Later, I found myself pleasantly surprised to be wrong. Twenty years ago Chloe’s father was arrested for murdering local teen girls. Now, present day, Chloe is a psychologist and engaged to her dream guy. When a local teen girl disappears, it feels like deja vu to Chloe. Then another girl disappears and Chloe starts to worry that her past has come to haunt her. Rating: 4/5
One Italian Summer
Rebecca Serle’s newest novel One Italian Summer is a heartwarming storm about finding yourself in love and dealing with grief and life at the same time. In a similar fashion as In Five Years, there is a bit of a “time travel” aspect to the story but it is not overdone. The story also made me want to book a trip to the Italian coast right away. Rating: 3/5
Reminders of Him
Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover was spectacular. The other novels of hers that I’ve read left me with high expectations with this one. Kenna returns to her late boyfriend, Scotty’s hometown after being released from prison hoping to find their daughter. A chance meeting with his best friend Ledger, puts Kenna on a crash course for potential heartbreak. Rating: 5/5
Nine Lives
I read Nine Lives by Peter Swanson in one sitting. I thoroughly enjoyed Swanson’s novels Every Vow You Break and Eight Perfect Murders. Nine strangers receive a letter in the mail with nine names. No one recognizes any of the other names. No one thinks twice of the list until one of the people on this list is murdered. Is anyone else in danger? How would you carry about your days not knowing what the list means? Rating: 5/5
The Golden Couple
The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen was amazing. I could not figure this one out for the life of me, meaning I didn’t quite know where the authors were taking the story, but I was hooked and needed to find out. Marissa and Matthew seem to have it all, but find themselves in couples therapy because Marissa was unfaithful. Their new therapist Avery recently lost her license but her patients still swear by her methods. Hendricks and Pekkanen have done it again. Rating: 5/5
